Foundational Work for the Series in Graphite, 2019
This series was created as the final project for my Painting I class in 2019. The models are friends who generously agreed to be photographed and painted over the course of about a month. The work explores themes of emotional uprootedness and apathy within abuse, symbolically expressed through a chaotic root system emerging from a severed head. (Oil on canvas board)
