4x6" Watercolor Studies of Two Main Characters in Silence, 2020
Since first encountering Silence in 2016—through both Martin Scorsese’s film adaptation and Shūsaku Endō’s novel—the story has remained a profound source of artistic and spiritual inspiration. Between 2017 and 2020, I created a series of works that drew from its imagery, themes, and questions of faith, suffering, devotion, and silence. These pieces reflect an ongoing engagement with the narrative's emotional and philosophical depth, exploring how its ideas continue to resonate across personal and creative practice.
