Live Sessions (Pastel)
I invited dear college friends to pose for 60-minute sessions in my studio throughout the semester so that I could gain more experience in working from life and exploring diverse faces, poses, and lighting setups. Throughout the process, we would talk and our conversation would inform many of my artistic decisions. Sometimes I would finish the portrait in 30 minutes and other times, I would have to take a photo and rework the piece long after they had left the studio. Over the course of around a year, I created approximately 100 of these. I'll have to count them all at one point. Here are a few. (Chalk/Oil Pastel on Tinted Paper)
